⁣Md. Ferdous Jaman born in 1970, has been with Orion since November 2000 and currently is the Executive Director and Company Secretary of Orion.

 

Mr. Jaman joined Orion in November 2000 as the Assistant Vice President of the Finance & Accounts Department in Kohinoor Chemical Company (Bangladesh) Limited, one of the concerns of the Group. Later in 2004, Mr. Jaman was appointed as the Company Secretary of the entire Group, where he was given the responsibility to look after all the member companies of the Group. Currently, Mr. Jaman also holds the position of Executive Director along with being the Company Secretary of Orion Pharma Limited, a member company of Orion.

As the Executive Director & Company Secretary at Orion, Mr. Jaman’s duties involve ensuring the organization's strict observance of rigorous standards in Financial and Accounting Reporting, Audit Compliance, Annual Reports and Corporate Governance. This includes maintaining effective communication with external regulators, legal representatives, and auditors. His role also involves securing funding for significant projects from both domestic and international markets through diverse financial mechanisms.

His role also includes supervision of timely submission of Management Information System (MIS) reports and preparation of Budget, Management of Cash Flow, and Annual Financial Statements. His further responsibilities include coordination of financial structuring, conducting thorough feasibility investigation of upcoming projects, and managing working capital.

Moreover, Mr. Jaman actively participates in strategic decision-making process concerning the existing businesses and new business ventures both domestically and internationally.

 

Mr. Jaman is a very dynamic and competent individual ensuring secretarial compliance as per the Companies Act 1994 of Bangladesh & other regulatory rules and regulations. He regularly attends Annual General Meetings with Company Shareholders and the Board of Directors and acts as a point of communication between the groups.

A well-presented and highly personable individual, Mr. Jaman has a deep knowledge of acts, rules, and regulations related to company affairs and statutory requirements. He possesses excellent organizational skills with a good eye for detail. He is an expert in handling IPO's shareholder acquisition and raising funds in a challenging environment. In addition to his secretarial profile, he is actively involved with the Finance Department and responsible for timely availability of funds for successful implementation of projects.

 

Mr. Jaman directly reports to Honorable Chairman of Orion, on overall operational and functional activities of Orion.

 

Mr. Jaman is an Accounting professional having experience spanning over more than 30 years with a number of renowned business houses in Bangladesh. He hails from the generation of professionals who have entered into the then-nascent corporate world of Bangladesh. Through his hard work and professionalism, he significantly contributed in the progress of the business group’s expansion, stability and corporate practices.

 

His key achievements include arranging the financing for the first Public Private Partnership (PPP) project namely Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover, totaling USD 300 million. Additionally, he successfully raised funds for Orion Pharma Limited through Initial Public Offering (IPO) from the capital market, amounting to USD 130 million. Furthermore, he facilitated the financing of operational power plants, totaling USD 220 million.

Since his joining, the brand ‘ORION’ has gained popularity as a renowned Business Group in the country.
